Shepherding the Flock of God
The Scriptures liken the people of God to a flock of sheep and her leaders to shepherds (Pss 78:52; 79:13; Jer 3:15; Ezek 34:1-10; John 10:1-10). The New Testament refers describes the role of the church’s overseers and elders as that of a pastor (Eph 4:11; 1 Pet 5:2). Understanding the pastor-sheep metaphor and its application to the church’s leaders and her members is vital for the church’s health. In the lecture below, Pastor Bob Selph focuses on the task of caring for Christ’s sheep in the capacity of a pastor.

I pray that in RBS, men will be trained to be shepherds, not just theologians. God’s people need shepherds, and in being that, theology will be the basis for their shepherding.
